Yanina Lescano rose to prominence in 2020 when she defeated Maria Moneo for the vacant South American Lightweight title. A run of impressive victories meant she earned a shot at The IBO World Title in Dubai. A controversial split decision defeat at the hands of Estelle Mossely later followed. Bouncing back, Yanina proved her talents by once again collecting a string of titles including the WBC Latino title, which eventually led her to a shot at Caroline Dubois in The UK. A close fight led to Yanina's stock rising, and despite the disappointment of defeat, Yanina once again climbed back up the rankings. Yet another World Title shot was secured, this time it was Brazil's Beatriz Ferreira that stud in the way of Yanina capturing the IBF World Lightweight Title. A nasty cut caused by an accidental head clash meant the fight was stopped, and the decision was given to the Brazilian. Now operating at 140lbs, Yanina is ready for all challenges in the Super Lightweight division.
